Does everyone object? The great marriage recession is upon us

๐Ÿ‘‰ This is part of My Virtual Soulmate

It may surprise you to learn that marriage rates are plummeting worldwide. The traditional model, where men served as economic providers, has shifted due to young men's economic stagnation.

In the U.S., the past decade was the only time in the past 50 years when under-35s were more likely to live with their parents than with a spouse. And men are taking longer to achieve traditional markers of stability. The result, writer Derek Thompson argues, is a fundamental shift in the marriage marketโ€”one where women, no longer reliant on marriage for security, increasingly choose to live alone or seek support and emotional fulfillment elsewhere.

These changes play into the broader challenges of isolation and anti-socialisation we are witnessing, which are changing all manner of relationships, marriage included.
